Italian food is as much a part of culinary Americana as bacon and pancakes or a banana split. But producing fine Italian food takes skill to balance flavors, and the creativity to deal with ever-changing, new-fangled products, seasonal produce and the customers' shifting palate. Not many kitchens make the effort. When they do, they shine. Pino's has the gift, from the spectacular antipasto assortment to a variety of homemade pastas to seafood and steaks. Service is excellent and the welcome warm. Not only is the regional food at Pino's way above average, but the restaurant itself is a pure delight.
